What's happening in the forums in September 2021 πŸ—“

Hi there SANE Community πŸ˜Š

This month we are trialling something new- we are sharing a calendar of the discussions you can get involved in!

Topic Tuesdays:

This month we have two Topic Tuesday's coming to the forums.

  • On 21st September we will be talking about Tools for Advocacy
  • The discussion with Lifeline talking about coping during times of crisis has been postponed until November.
  • On the 28th of September, we will be chatting with one of SANE's amazing Peer Ambassadors talking about Body Image and Eating Disorders.

Awareness Days and Event Days:

There are a few event and awareness days this month:

  • Father's Day
  • Body Image and Eating Disorder Awareness Week
  • World Suicide Prevention Day

Peer Group Chats:

There are two peer group chats this month:

  • 9th September: Gratitude
  • 23rd September: Dealing with upsetting news content

Special discussions:

This month we will be starting a series of discussions relating to feelings we all experience. We will spend a week talking about each feeling here on the forums. Keep an eye out for the introduction post tomorrow talking about how to get involved! The two feelings we will be chatting about this month are anger/frustration, and stress/overwhelm.

We will also be posting a How to Guide for Peer Support based on the peer support skills we spoke about earlier this year in our Topic Tuesday // What peer support is and why it's great // Tues 11th May, 7:00-8:30PM AEST

Keep an eye out for posts about each of these events throughout the month πŸ™‚ If you want to follow discussions, or wish to be tagged in future calendars of events, feel free to support this post and we will tag you in next month's calendar!

**Note we may update this post with new discussions as they arise or if any dates or times shift πŸ™‚

Hi everyone, i'm behind in attending quite a few of these events because of tech issues with my computer. Looks interesting with the new changes and introduction of a timeline. Worth mentioning also that i really appreciated the time and effort shown by everyone that took the time to tag me in a few of the previous events earlier in the year.

So best wishes for the week everyone - hope it's a good one πŸ™‚
