Re: Introduction

Hi @HenryX

How was your day. My day was ok, it was nice to get out of the house into the sunshine but the town we visited was pretty boring with nothing much to do. But all in all it was a nice drive in the country. I have decided to quit going to my choir as it's just not as fun as it used to be with this new conductor. I don't think it's change that is the problem per se' just the lack of fun. Also the song choices are pretty bland. I sms'd someone on the committee and told them that I didn't want to come. It's a shame because I used to love it so much.

Re: Introduction

Hello @Oaktree

I'm sorry that the choir activity was not giving you the enjoyment that you used to have before. But, that being the case, there probably is not much point putting effort in if you are not feeling a genuine sense of enjoyment from the activity.

I don't normally like suggesting options for other people, partly because I don't know them well enough to offer connecting ideas. However, a general idea that I might offer is to find some group activity that may be appealing or rewarding. Possibly closer to home, by which people you may wish to connect with are closer, maybe for a cuppa from time to time. It could be any activity that involves interaction with other people. From what you have told me, it seems that you would derive enjoyment from quite a few different activities that will also give you the enjoyment of other peoples company in the process.

When you were talking about visiting a town around Perth, I thought it might have been Bindoon. It is out in the hills and has a large community run op shop, although I do not know the days that it is open. I often travel that way when I am going to Perth. Kalamunda would also fit those general details.

I do hope that future trips will be more interesting and rewarding.

It has been a quiet day for me. Bible study this morning and mostly computer work for the rest of the day. And a telephone call to a friend in Dongara. About my weekend, I gave some detail yesterday, attending a couple of church activities and writing 'castle stories'.

Physical activity has to be high on my agenda during the next few weeks, now that the weather is warming up.

For Now

Best Wishes

@HenryX

Re: Introduction

Hi @HenryX

You are too clever by half! It was Bindoon.

Re: Introduction

Hello @Oaktree

Hope that you and your family are all well.

I just wrote a fairly long note on oceangirls thread "Checking in". Gives a bit of detail about where I see myself, and where to.

Best Wishes

Re: Introduction

Hi @HenryX

I have missed our chats but I haven't had any news. Sorry to see that your bike immediately got a flat and now you have to repair it. I would encourage you to get around to that as soon as possible. I too feel a tremendous apprehension and anxiety around making phone calls of any sort. Always have had. As a child I would get my Mother to ring up hairdressers to make appointments for me and later I would just go to the kind where you could just walk in without an appointment. I think that I am also suffering from a fair amount of depression at the moment. Life is just not enjoyable right now. It's really hard to get out of bed in the mornings as I have nothing to look forward to. I don't feel like I am in a super dark place as I have been in before just maybe low grade depression. I am glad that your relationship with your daughter has improved. I was reading how you looked after your Mum in her last years. I am glad that you were able to be there for her in that way. She probably appreciated it too. I hope there will be someone there to take care of you if you ever need that. Maybe your daughter? Anyway I hope that you are well and are making progress on all your goals. I really hope that you are making good progress with your counsellor.
