Re: Anger tantrums

Hey @Blue13 ,

They are really some great strategies you've mentioned there. I'm glad you've found some things work well for you.

How have you been this past week?

I've been thinking about you and wanted to check in.

Re: Anger tantrums

Hii. Thank you

trying my best.
been going ok wouldn’t say 100%

still kind of feisty forwards certain things and conversation 😂. Only within my words tho, I have not acted out in tantrums or with any certain other physical movements. I was angry earlier and I wrote a big letter and scribbled and drew all over the page. I’ve only done this once before because it feels silly but it did work. Thanks for thinking about it 💗

Re: Anger tantrums

Also, I think it's good to think about anger as an emotion. And it's not that anger is 'bad', but rather, the behaviours associated can be harmful.

For me, I was also angry earlier this week. I took deep breaths, then I punched the letters on my phone to write a message. Each letter was like a fire ball attacking the screen. When I say 'punched', I don't mean with my fist. I punched each letter in with my finger... AND, i didn't send the message/s straight away... I waited until I calmed down.

I loved reading about your strategy @Blue13 ! it's something I should try too! I used to get really angry all the time, but now, it's not often.

Re: Anger tantrums

That’s good to hear, as long as it works for you then your on the right path.
we may go back and forth but we are never what we were before which is improvement

that’s how I see it 🤷‍♀️ when I can actually see the positive in a good state of mind 😂

most my strategies are from my therapist or boyfriend. They are very helpful

my boyfriend has a strategy, when he is angry he just starts doing his time tables in his head. I don’t think that could ever work for me because I wouldn’t be calm enough to even know my timetables 😂 but he did suggest it
