Re: Best Friends Club

Thanks my sweet @Jynx for your kind words. It is so good to actually feel good!

I did a quick google and it turns out there is an Iris flower named "Senor Jinx" Iris. It's a bit sexist calling it Senor so I would have to change it's name to The Iris 😍

What is your favourite colour, and do you have a particular flower or plant you like?

Re: Best Friends Club

Naww @ENKELI I love that!! Hmm I don't mind occasional masc-gendered stuff, it usually lands pretty nicely hey, and especially when in Espaniol!! But The Iris also kinda has this ethereal quality to it that I am fond of... soooo dealer's choice!!

My fav colour is.... oh! Huh! For the MAJORITY of my life my answer has been UV purple but I think it's recently started to shift... to jade green/teal!! Funnily enough, the combo of the two is my fav colour combo of all time so

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hence why I have a lotta love for fluorite!! And my fav flower is Jasmine - the smell is just 😍😍

Re: Best Friends Club

@Glisten Tomaatti,
Original post was edited and accidently deleted because I mentioned the name of HRT medication I thought might help you, as well as the visitor centre where I worked many many MANY years ago.
I am completely gobsmacked with the way Sane operates these days but I will bite my tongue and play nice because I do enjoy chatting with the majority of members, you especially.

Yes the diabetes is the best news I've had in a long time. To his credit, it was my fault that I didn't get diagnosed earlier because I just didn't have the energy to go to see my GP. As soon as I said how I was feeling, he ordered the blood tests, there was about 15 in total that he tested for. He believes that I will start feeling better once the meds kick in, but as made me promise to go back if there is no change. I have been seeing my doc for over 20 years, I trust him implicitly. He's a firm believer in listening to his patients. As he said to me once, "you know your body better than I do, I only offer suggestions and solutions."

Why on earth will your doc not give you HRT? The one I'm on - not allowed to name it - works well but only drawback is that it is not on pbs so it's about $50 a month. My health insurance won't rebate me either, swines! My crazy cat lady friend uses supplements, although she did mention still have the flushes when I spoke with her yesterday. It's pretty expensive too, more than HRT.

How do you serve your tofu? I like it roasted with veg and with Gado Gado but don't have any other thoughts on how to have it. Any ideas would be happily received.

How are Lenny and Mac? I am pretty sure I am one step closer to locating them tee hee hee....!

My cholesterol is a little high but that is diet related. I was never one for sweet things but since the 'pause I have craved sugar like MM craves his Krack. My vitamin D was at 22 and should be 50 so I'm taking supplements (FFS I can't even mention the Vitamin D brand!) per GP instruction and then the diabetes medications. Everything else was perfect including my iron levels which, due to having haemochromatosis I was a little worried about. I am going to start giving blood again now that I have the all clear.

I think you should do both Italy and Norway. I would LOVE to see photos of Norway. I am hoping to get back to the US once my father falls off the perch and leaves me an inheritance.
While I know that sounds harsh he decided that he no longer wants me to be in touch with him and I only found out he was in hospital with pneumonia because my sister thought maybe she ought to tell me. Despite the countless emails, text messages and voice mails I've left him he doesn't bother to respond. So I figure the best thing he could do for me is shuffle off and let me have my inheritance before I'm too old to appreciate it! Will I miss him? Not particularly. I haven't seen him in over 15 years. Stepmonster saw to that.

I have never thought about volunteering for RDA, it's certainly something to look in to. Most of my vollie work has been with a local Visitor Centre (again it was nearly 20 years ago but we mustn't name it)- I volunteered there from it's inception to when it was taken over by I'm Not Allowed To Say about 6 or so years, then of course the political party of my choice, I volunteered for them for 30 years, I volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and after school kids' programme with my church for many years and then the last role was as secretary at my Godkids'...er rather former Godkids' school.
I hope you are doing okay, I have missed chatting with you lately ENKELI_0-1747741051926.png

Re: Best Friends Club

@Jynx Jasmine! I LOVE Jasmine! Hmmmm.....starting to think I might have to get a Jasmine.

Very true about words said on Spanish, it's such a pretty language!! 💜💙 (purple and blue are my favourite colours)

Re: Best Friends Club

@ENKELI I totally get how it can be irksome to not be able to name medications, especially if they're not necessarily related to mental health. However, this is a blanket rule we enforce strictly across the board, right down to OTC painkillers, because we simply cannot risk members - consciously or not, meaningfully or not - taking medical advice from the forums. It even feels ridiculous to us sometimes too!! Deleting commonly known diabetes medications doesn't feel the nicest, deleting info about life saving HRT meds certainly doesn't feel fun, but alas we gots to do it.

If there's other things got you feeling gobsmacked, we deffo want to hear about them. Is it stuff you would like to share?

Anyway... yes I have been thinking about growing some jasmine, but no idea if I have the heart for accidentally killing it 😅

Purple, blue n green, the absolute dream team of colour, eeeee!! 😊
