Re: Good Morning!

And a late good morning to you too @Appleblossom I hope you're having a lovely day,  I'm still waiting on news from my family.  They say "No news is good news" so otherwise getting on with my day.  What else can I do?

And I find at times like this music and exercise are really good comforts for the soul.  Yesterday I went into my little attic and found a book I bought decades ago called "The Fake Book of 1200 Songs" and there are some beauties in it, it's got the Harry Lime theme, the Beatles' songs, all the famous film theme music, modern, jazz, romantic, classocal, traditional and modern folk... I'm having great fun with it!

Re: Good Morning!

@PeppyPatti thank you for the opportunity to have a little bit of a laugh. I'm going to acknowledge it here. I'm having one of those tough days today...feeling a bit down. So, I appreciate the laugh..

I have decided to get out and about and went for a wander through the local market. I brought a sketch pad and colouring in book - I find myself inspired to do some drawing. It's been a while.

Oh...and I have coffee!

Re: Good Morning!

@Abner It’s hard being in waiting mode for serious news.

Totally agree that exercise and music is good for the soul… and the body…lol…. Fitness and dopamine.

we are fortunate to have good and broad musical foundations. Enjoy the fake book. It can be beneficial for tapping into memories and feelings and be sentimental, passionate, big and little R romantic…. Just so rich…

No worries @MissinTooth

Iv been pretty much lying in bed and sending messages to my psychotherapist as I didn't see her past 2 weeks.

When things get tough, I go on quora and ask for cleverest jokes year 2025. I found this one.

I usually lie in bed and do nothing these days. I started to pack for a little holiday.

Eating chocolate.

Re: Good Morning!

Yes @Appleblossom and the little r romantic is just as important, there's someone who has mutual feelings for me, and today I was playing the Harlem Nocturne and the Beatles'song "And I Love Her" and thinking one night when I'm with her I'll play them for her, they're beautiful on the trumpet...and I played Gerald Finzi's "Fear no more the heat I'm the sun" on my euphonium, it's sounding quite good, though could be better.

Re: Good Morning!

Chocolate always good @PeppyPatti !

Re: Good Morning!

Your tastes and your text sounds good to my ears. Yes to all the feelings that can be expressed in music. There is even comedy in composition as well as old silly or sentimental lyrics. Beethoven loved his Scherzi. Remember practice doesn't really make purrfection. Pursuit of excellence is the best we can do... Often ordinary is enough.

I have an ex sister in law with an acquired brain injury. Her son is visiting atm. She says she divorced my brother but not me, and is turning the tide of the defamation I experienced. So yes I have some idea how hard that can be.

We are also waiting on news from a surgery on my niece.

In the meantime...

Let's use our breath mindfully and musically. Was moved from Alto to Bass in Bach Concerto in F major. Recorders are not quite Hunting Horns ...lol.... Also a weird modern suite called In the Nordic Forest... And lots besides.  The male cousins were doing music this arvo. I am lucky with so much live music in my life. I barely need to go digital... Except tomorrow I hope the Clavinova works, cos the piano is dreadfully out of tune.
