Re: Introduction

Hi @HenryX

It has been ages since I have heard from you but I hope that you are well. I just got over Covid and I got a chest infection afterwards. I went to Frozen the musical today with my Mental Health Care recovery worker. We are also staying at a city hotel overnight. I am in my room now just biding my time until it’s time to go for dinner. Tomorrow we are going to do a bit of a touristy thing before we go back home. This is an NDIS respite and I feel very spoiled. This morning before I left home I took hubby to ALDI to purchase a new toaster. We had a four slice one before but half of it broke down. We got a new four slice one today. It is a white one. I wasn’t really keen on the other two colours.
So I had to take approved leave from university due to the Covid. Things keep getting in my way with the studying. Not sure if it’s the universe’s way of telling me not to do it or not. I don’t know what I will do next semester yet. I am still getting over being sick.

How are things going for you?

Re: Introduction

Hello Meggle and other members of the forum,

A note to say "Hi" and that I am ok. I notice that different people have had some pleasant times and a few have had sad experiences. Noted that you had covid Meggle and a chest infection following that, back at the end of August. I hope that you have fully recovered without any of the after effects that some have experienced. Thinking of you and your family and hoping that all are well.

My daughter and her son visited last week, before school starts for him in first grade. Really great to see them both. Although we don't see each other that often, our time together is very special for me, as I hope it is for them.

My friend, who conducts the singing, had a stroke toward the end of last year. She is recovering and I am hoping for her and the rest of the group, that she will be able to continue soon. She sent an sms asking our thoughts about restarting, though I would like to be sure that she does not over-extend. I am sure, though, that her husband will provide appropriate support or restraint.

I still attend the church gathering on Saturday and enjoy the company of the four other people, and sometimes, other family members, as the group is now.

Physical limitations are still a problem. I have taken a course of action that I hope will improve my capacity.

Having "bitten the bullet" and dropped in here, I hope to be more active here on the forum. I'll just take it a day at a time.

With Best Wishes to you Meggle and other members with whom I hope to "speak" soon.

Cheers, HenryX

Re: Introduction

Hi @HenryX and any other forumites passing through. How lovely to hear from you!

I recovered well from my bout of Covid afer about 6 weeks and am quite well now. I am also rather mentally stable as my medication regime is proving to be a good one for me finally. This makes me a happy camper.

I went to see Frozen the musical twice towards the end of last year. Once with Tendercare (we stayed overnight in a city hotel) and once with my best friend and her daughter.

I had a good Christmas. My two boys and their partners came for a cooked breakfast and for once the weather was nice so it was actually bearable in our unairconditioned house, which makes a change from previous years! Did nothing for New Years except take my son and his girlfriend to and from a party. Made a New Years resolution regarding my health which has had a bit of a false start so I am starting over this month. I have made some good changes such as drinking water and walking more but other things did not go as well.

I have taken a time out on my study. I have decided to listen to the universe and wait and see what it is I really want to do. Just taking this year a bit slowly to see how it goes.

Thinking of going back to my choir. It starts back on Monday night. Sorry to hear about your choir conductor having a stroke, that’s very unfortunate. I hope they recover well.

I went with my best friend to see WASO’s performance of Toy Story the other week. It was a late celebration of my birthday. They put the film up on a screen and the orchestra on stage below it plays all the music. It was a great experience. I have never seen the WASO perform before.

WASO for those who don’t know is the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra.

I am glad that you have spent some time with your daughter and your grandchildren. That’s wonderful! I hope you are improving in the mobility department. I hope that you are well and have things to look forward to.

Hi @tonys  and @LeChuck

You can just talk rubbish to each other here. This is a thread I started to introduce myself to the forum and ended up being a place I chatted to HenryX. He doesn’t come by much at all anymore so you guys are welcome to chat here and you won’t disrupt anything.

Re: Introduction

Hey @tonys, we found a home for nonsense! Well I've found a home anyway! I needed a space where I didn't feel disruptive/unwanted/intrusive. A thread to call home I guess you could call it 🙂 And you are my first tag! (Also probably the only person who wants one...)

However I am not really up to offering much fun nonsense today, it's a rough one.

Hope you're having a good one mate 🙂

Re: Introduction

Hello @Oaktree    Hope your skipping rope and smiling mate.    Thanks for very kind invite.

My computor social skills and black humour are at times best described as a wrecking ball bouncing around a mine field.   I think chuck knows me,   so I will let him figure out what's best

and go with that.

I have Asd  and a brain injury,  and am a happy but mischievous thinker,  and my attempts to cheer someone up have been  misinterpreted by a couple of struggling folks before.

And of coarse a hand offered,  that gets bitten off,  makes it harder for me to keep a gentle breeze in my sails too

So. . .   as chuck knows the B P  terrain better than me,    I will trust  his judgement

Big bunch of coloured balloons to you my friend.      tonys  moonbase 1

Re: Introduction

Hi to you at your moonbase @tonys

You sound so fun and I have enjoyed seeing your messages elsewhere. If you and @LeChuck are agreeable I will stick around to chat with the two of you but it’s totally up to you. I understand if you guys want to be left alone. Thanks for the balloons, i hope they are helium! I love up-balloons. Happy to make your aquaintance
