Pure panic
One small thing sets you off
And your mind begins to race
You certainly know the signs
And you begin to pace
It starts with quick breathing
And then a lump in your throat
you try so hard to swallow
and you try and keep yourself afloat
you begin to tremble
and you can feel your blood beginning to flow
as your heart is quickly beating
you want to run as fast as your legs can go
you break out into a cold sweat
and wipe at your brow
you feel you are going to vomit
so you reach for a towel
you feel you need to lie down
and curl up into a ball
because you feel so dizzy
and you are afraid that you will fall
You begin to calm down
And begin to deeply breathe
And you do hope to god
That for this no one did see
you feel so very silly
for control that you feel you lack
but you soon realize
that it was a pure panic attack

Hi @Wennie ,
Thank you for sharing. We hear you.
Have you found anything that works for you when the panic sets in?

Good evening @Dimity,
I find that slowing my breathing down helps and this may sound strange but I tighten my abdominal muscles and massage just under the diaphragm and I then make myself “burp” several times and I find that this releases the pressure of having excess air in the body that I find causes me to have the feeling of having a lump in my throat (that feeling makes me panic even more). It has taken me a long time to perfect this but I find that it helps relieve the symptoms of the panic attack and it also helps calm my mind. Cheers
