Food Gardening.

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone who is into the following.

โค๏ธ Urban organic food gardening.

๐Ÿงก Culinary herb gardening.

๐Ÿ’› Cooking with home grown produce.

๐Ÿ’š Beekeeping.

๐Ÿ’™ Permaculture design.

๐Ÿ’œ Edible flowers gardening.

I've been interested in these things for quite a long time now and I'm looking at starting a culinary herb garden on my patio in the near future (including catnip, cat grass and cat mint for my cat - Gotta think of him ๐Ÿ˜ป) in my second story unit.

I'm also planning to move interstate after my Diploma of Disability and Community Practice course finishes to a unit that on the ground floor hopefully with a courtyard so I can have a raised container food garden and create a safe cat enclosure for my cat (I love him dearly ๐Ÿ˜ป)

What has your experience been with food gardening?

Cheers,

Re: Food Gardening.

I defo don't have a green thumb and know nothing about gardening !!! @Catlady1979

Re: Food Gardening.

I am a cat lady too @Catlady1979 I just put in winter mixed lettuce. I love them as it is great going from garden to plate.  I lost a lot of kale last year as I didnโ€™t want to spray. Mostly I am relaxed about it. I have been aware of permaculture ideas, but not heavily pursued it. Much of my veggies are in raised beds.

Congrats on committing to cat care and growing food.

I am lucky I am in a very small house and have enough space,,,,

Re: Food Gardening.

Thanks!!

When I move I'm hoping to adopt another cat so Jerry has a friend as he's quite sociable with other cats - I'll probably get a desexed female and I'll call her Hilda.

I'm also hoping to adopt a dog too.

Growing my own food along with cooking and eating at home more will help me get by just a little better in today's economy.
