Yep lol @tyme - admittedly I was 13, and was following verbal instructions being called out from the next room - they did not say to drain it haha (they just assumed I would). Well, since it was very very watery it was not good - I think i might have drained the pasta at that stage (after noting it didn't look right) and then re-done the sauce --- I can't remember exactly what I did after, but this is most likely what I think happened knowing myself. Never made the same mistake again though! 🤣

LOL! Well done on giving it a go at 13 anyway!

I knew a teen who 'boiled' eggs by putting it in a bowl and pouring hot water over as the only other thing he knew how to make was 2 min cup noodles! @AlwaysMyself

Live and learn, eh?

Re: Icebreakers time!

You certainly do! @GezzaP

I love how creative you're being, I am sure it's really soul-nourishing. 🥰

Re: Icebreakers time!

I love Spring and Autumn in the garden. @AuntGlow  Don’t like Summer heat or Winter cold.

I’ve just realised that I have to put stacks of stuff back on spare bedroom shelf after was painted. Piles of photocopied articles, jigsaw puzzles, guitar and charango strings and I can’t recall what else. Heavy to move. I’ve just made a start. Only 20 minutes of doing it before I had enough. Will do a bit more for the next several days. Had to reorganise room because shelf was not put back right.

My helper has put some stuff out of my reach (I’m very short [edited by moderator]) so I’ll have to stand on a chair.

He left some sandpaper, a pair of kitchen scissors and sanding block on shelf typical boy so I had to move that ready to go under laundry sink. Had to wash kitchen scissors. He always uses them for non-kitchen scissor stuff. I’m sure I showed him where the right scissors are.

He also forgot to put one of my smoke alarms back up. You can tell he’s male. But he helps me out a lot. Guess smoke alarm is still working it’s a ten year battery not wired in.

Re: Icebreakers time!

And the shutters? @GezzaP I saw they got put up!

Re: Icebreakers time!

Yes finally yesterday @tyme . Asked for discount for them mucking me around not expecting to get any. Won’t use them again. Will write a bad review. Just put them down for the night. Go to bed early. Watching news will do 30 minutes of Spanish lessons then get ready for bed.

Re: Icebreakers time!

Be grateful for small mercies! At least it's done! Yeah, go with the review and see where it gets you! @GezzaP

Good night!

Icebreakers time!!!

Hello Forumites!

Welcome to Wednesday! Ready for another icebreaker. I thought I’d do one my favourites.

If you were a kitchen appliance, utensil or tool what would you be and why? Think Beauty and the Beast style, but make it modern!

I would personally be a blender. My brain can be very spin-ey and fast. The blender in my house rarely has to do work, just occasionally making a smoothie, but spends most of its time just chilling on a shelf. I might also be a microwave on one of my slower days.

A funny story linked to this ice-breaker is that some of my colleagues and I stood up in front of all the staff at SANE and told them what kitchen appliance or tool we’d be too, as a way to help people get to know us better.

Let me know what you’d be!

Tag anyone who you think would be interested!

@0ddsidian

I would be a Theromix because I like doing a number of different things.

Re: Icebreakers time!!!

..I would be a deep-fryer , as nothing bad can come out of me ... ah, fried goodedness.....

lol

Re: Icebreakers time!!!

I’d be an eggcup because they come in lots of super adorable designs, and they don’t tend to get dirty or gross through their use
