Introductiom

Good morning,

I'm Skids [edited by moderator] and I am keen to speak to people who have Bi Polar. I was diagnosed in 2013 and unfortunately it took 20 years to make that diagnosis. Along with my counsellor I am writing a book which which aims to:

1/ To share my "Happy Stocktake" that has enabled me to live a build many coping srategies.

2/ To look at Bi Polar as a partner rather than a Sufferer of the disease

3/ To share my personal stories in the hope that a quicker diagnosis is possible.

Looking forward to speaking to people.

Re: Introductiom

Hello @Skids and welcome to the forums!

It's great to hear your passion for helping others to receive a quicker diagnosis after what you yourself experienced, it's admirable to see you using your own negative experience to assist others.

I did just want to highlight that while it's great to share that you are working on this project, the forums are strictly a place for peer-to-peer support and cannot be used for any form of promotion or as a place to gather information or research for projects whether personal or professional. This may not apply to you but I did just want to flag these guidelines as they are easy to miss especially when you first sign up! One guideline that new members often miss is our anonymity guideline which means we just use our usernames here rather than our real names - due to this we've made a slight edit to your post. You can read up on the guidelines here

With that out of the way I look forward to learning more about your story as I'm sure that many of our members will connect with it too

Re: Introductiom

Love your attitude @Skids yes there can be many positives with Bipolar. I was cautiously described as Bipolar mixed state once. Been called so many names, I take em all with a grain of salt. But yes, making the proverbial…. Lemonade when all ya got is lemons… is a way to go.
